- Can I buy cable by the metre or in short lengths from Hughes Electronics?
In many cases, we can support shorter cut lengths, pre-cut lengths, samples, prototypes, and custom cable assemblies — depending on product availability and specification. While we specialise in volume supply for infrastructure projects, we don't operate a retail web shop, but our sales team is always happy to discuss your requirements and find the right solution.

Minimum order requirements vary depending on the product, specification, and current stock levels. Whether you need a single custom assembly, a prototype batch, or bulk reels for a nationwide deployment, contact us with your requirement and we'll advise what's possible.
- Can I request samples or prototype quantities before placing a bulk order?
Yes, we handle sample and prototype requests on a case-by-case basis. If you need to evaluate a cable, connector, or assembly before committing to a larger order, contact our sales team with your requirements and we'll do our best to help.
- Do you sell to individuals, or only to businesses?
We primarily serve businesses across the telecoms, data centre, and network infrastructure sectors — including OEMs, mobile network operators, and system integrators. However, we welcome all enquiries. If you're an individual with a specific technical requirement, get in touch and we'll let you know if we can help or point you in the right direction.

- Can I collect my order from your London warehouse?
Collection from our London facility is available by prior arrangement. Please contact our sales team in advance to confirm stock availability and arrange a collection time.
- Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We support nationwide delivery across the UK and ship internationally for deployment projects. For overseas orders, payment terms may differ — please contact our sales team to discuss your requirements.
- What are your payment terms?
Standard terms are payment with order unless a credit account has been established. For customers with an approved credit account, invoices are payable within 30 days of the invoice date. To apply for a credit account, please contact our sales team.
- How quickly can you dispatch orders?
Our London-based warehouse and rapid reaction workshop hold strategic stock for immediate dispatch. For stocked items, we can offer same-day dispatch for urgent requirements. For custom or made-to-order assemblies, lead times depend on specification and volume — contact us for an estimate.

- What products does Hughes Electronics manufacture and supply?
We design, manufacture, and supply a comprehensive range of passive communication products, including:
- Coaxial assemblies — phase-stable, weatherproof coaxial cable assemblies for 5G, DAS, small-cell, and macro deployments
- Coaxial cables — HE195, HE240, and HE400 low-loss coaxial cables (LSZH), plus feeder cables in 1/2", 7/8", and 1-1/4" sizes
- Fibre assemblies — plug-and-play OS2, OM3, and OM4 connectivity with bend-insensitive fibre technology
- Bespoke fibre feeders — custom fibre optic cables up to 12cm outer diameter, available as bulk reels, pre-cut lengths, or pre-terminated assemblies
- DC power assemblies — LSZH-compliant multi-core DC trunk cables, armoured SWA, tri-rated, and double-insulated assemblies
- Connectors and adaptors — Hughes connector series including 4.3-10, 7/16, N-Type, QMA, and more
- Tools and testers — cable preparation tools, connector termination tooling, and test equipment

- Can you supply custom cable assemblies?
Absolutely. Custom cable assembly is one of our core capabilities. Our London-based manufacturing facility produces bespoke coaxial, fibre, and DC power assemblies built to exact mechanical and electrical specifications. We manage the full process from design and prototyping through to production, testing, and delivery.

- Do you offer design and prototyping services?
Yes. Our in-house engineering team provides design, rapid prototyping, and validation services. We work closely with customers — and collaborate with top London universities — to solve complex connectivity challenges and develop breakthrough products. From concept through to full-scale production, we can support your project at every stage.
- What is the WaveWay connector system?
WaveWay is our ultra-low PIM (Passive Intermodulation) connector system, developed through a research programme in collaboration with London South Bank University. It was designed specifically to mitigate the sources of PIM in cellular networks — a problem that traditional metal connectors are particularly vulnerable to.
Unlike conventional connectors, WaveWay uses a non-metal composite body and a single-piece signal path to eliminate the micro-separations that cause interference. Key benefits include zero corrosion, zero harmonics, IP68 weatherproofing, and legacy compatibility with standard 7/16 interfaces.
